Miike's latest movie,"You've Got A Call" which will be world premire at Tokyo Intetnational Film Festival,theme songs will be singing by one of the actress from the movie,Kou Shibasaki("Battle Royale" and "Yomigaeri"). She sold more than 900,000 cds of theme song of "Yomigaeri" which was released early this year. "You've Got A Call" will be released next January and producers expect big hit for both movies and soundtrack.

** More Takashi Miike on DVD: More DVDs from Japanese's wildchild will be release... in Japan. On the 25th, KIKOKU featuring Riki Takeuchi will come out direct to video, CHUGOKU NO CHOJIN will get the DVD treatment on the 26th. Take not that his made for tv film, KOSHONIN came out on the 18th. ** Takashi Miike update: Here's what the Japanese director had to say at a recent interview at the Sundance Film Festival: He discuss another film released by him this year, CHAKUSHIN ARI (One Missed Call). The production represents a departure from his usual subject matter and sees him offering a new perspective on the supernatural, a theme proving to be very popular in contemporary Japanese filmmaking. He says, "At present there are a lot of Japanese movies about ghost stories which are becoming popular on an international level. This film takes the ghost story format in a different direction. A ghost is always challenging the main female protagonist but at the last they have a meeting point. Therefore it offers a difference to other movies of this type as the two come together." Finally, his plans for the future include shooting a film in London sometime in 2004 and he concludes, "It is not enough to make a good film, I need to enjoy making the film. "JSA" director Park Chan-wook is in charge of the South Korean entry, while
"Infernal Affairs" director Andrew Lau will be handling the Hong Kong
segment. Their respective casts have yet to be announced.

"Asian Curse Story" is scheduled for an autumn release in Japan, South
Korea and Hong Kong, and may also be submitted to the Venice and Berlin
film festivals.

eine UK-Scheibe von Full Metal Yakuza
erschienen. Wie die Qualität ist, weiß ich nicht, aber ein interessantes Feature
dürfte sicherlich der Audiokommentar von Tom Mes sein.


Am 26.04. erscheint ebenfalls in England
Visitor Q, Angaben zur
Austattung konnte ich nirgends finden. Bleibt noch Miikes angebliches Meisterwerk
Agitator; vorläufiger Veröffentlichungstermin ist der 24.05.

Dies ist allerdings, wie ich mittlerweile weiß, keine News. Laut ofdb ist der Film nämlich schon vor über zwei Jahren bei Cultmovies erschienen und zudem cut


Edit: Puhh.. Auf der DVD steht allerdings "Strong Uncut Edition". Hoffe mal, dass bewahrheitet sich , sonst

Am 5.7.04 erscheint in England eine Ichi The Killer - Box mit drei DVDs, die wohl kaum die ungeschnittene Fassung enthalten wird.

Die AGITATOR-DVD ist Tartan leider ziemlich misslungen: Zu einem extrem unscharfen, nachziehenden Bild gesellt sich ein fürchterlich blecherner DD 2.0 - Sound; die DD 5.1-Tonspur war leider nicht auffindbar , die DTS-Tonspur konnte ich aufgrund veralteten Equipments nicht anwählen.
Auf der DVD befindet sich unter anderem ein Trailer zu Miikes GRAVEYARD OF HONOUR, ob das als indirekter Hinweis auf die nächste Miike-Veröffentlichung von Tartan zu verstehen ist?

Hi, und...wo ist der Witz. Der Film kann auch ohne Probs als "Ab 6 J." klassifiziert werden. IMHO eines der schwächsten "Werke" vom ollen Miike.

Der erste Miike-Film, der in England, Amerika oder Deutschland für Personen unter 18 Jahren freigegeben wurde. Sicherlich nicht lustig für Leute, die schon über die Sache mit Lynchs STRAIGHT STORY und dem G-Rating nicht lachen konnten.
